The 7 Day Body Vacation: Day 3

The 7 Day Body Vacation Day 3

Have you read the Introduction to the 7-Day Body Vacation yet? That’s the best place to start!

Okay, today we get serious. We start the morning off with a big breakfast smoothie to give us some energy to take on the day, but after that the training wheels come off and we are going to spend some quality time with fresh juices.

This is where the body vacation really starts to get into full swing as we give our bodies a break from digesting food. When they don’t have to devote all that energy into digesting solid food, our bodies are better able to focus on dealing with anything else that may need attention, like a build up of solid waste in the colon, or excess fluid retention.

Today’s Food Plan

Upon waking, juice half a lemon into a coffee mug and fill the mug with warm water. Drink.

What to expect on Day 3

The thing you are going to deal with more than anything else today is the desire to eat. That’s natural, and expected. We are accustomed to eating three times a day, and when you don’t put something in your mouth and chew at lunchtime, your mind is going to tell you that something’s wrong. Nothing is wrong, and I promise that a quart of fresh juice is completely capable of giving your body what it needs.

If at any point in the day you feel hungry, drink a glass of water. You might not believe me right now, but I promise it works.

At some point today, you may notice a change in both the frequency and outcome of your visits to the bathroom. When you are consuming large quantities of liquid, you’re going to pee more. That makes sense. You may also notice that your urine and even your solid waste has a pink/red color to it. DO NOT PANIC. This is called Beeturia, and is only the result of pigments in the beets being release. The intensity and color will vary from person-to-person.
