Vegan General Tso's Chicken

  • 1¾ cups water
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ¼ cup red wine
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ⅛ cup cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 Edward & Sons Natural Not-Chick'n Bouillon Cube
  • 1 Thai chili or 1 Tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 1 medium sweet onion, sliced thin
  • 1 medium sweet red pepper, sliced
  • 1 package Gardein Seven-Grain Crispy Tenders
  1. Prepare tenders according to package directions.
  2. Make the sauce by placing for 10 ingredients (through red pepper flakes) in a blender and blending until well-combined.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and saute onion and pepper until onions are translucent and peppers are fork tender. Add sauce and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens to desired consistency.
  4. Toss tenders in to coat and serve over steamed rice.
