How to Regrow Tomato Plants

How to Regrow a TomatoIt is very easy to create new tomato plants from existing ones.

Simply take a cutting from a healthy, established plant (great for people who prune their plants during the season), submerge the cut stem in a glass of water, and wait. In about a week you will see a root system begin to emerge, signaling that you can plant your new tomato seedling in a container or directly into the garden.

Want a serious boost on incredible root growth? Replace plain water with Moo Poo Tea.

You likely either had an unhealthy piece of the plant, or it was allowed to sit too long before you put it in the water. Try again.

Should the water be changed every other day? Also, should I mist the leaves until roots form?

All that needs to be done is clearly stated in the instructions in this blog post.

What about a stem that has been broken off, and not cut? Will it work the same way? :/

Doesn’t matter, though I would cut the end to trim it evenly before putting it into my water.

Wow,what a great idea . I bought one good sized tomato plant and let it get established, then started six more from it.they caught up quickly and I had a bumper crop this year for less initial cost. Thank you !
